Sunrise at the cova d’en Gispert

Route

Tamariu provides the backdrop for an extraordinary astronomical phenomenon. The combination of the Cova d’en Gispert, whose shape plots a straight line, and its eastward orientation, means that twice a year the sun rises totally aligned with the cave. This allows us to contemplate its beauty from the back of the cave in natural light.

This excursion is organised in the second fortnight in August. We leave early in the morning from the beach of Tamariu and head straight for Cova d’en Gispert. After taking some time to check out the cave and watch the sunrise, we head back, closely hugging the as-yet deserted coastline. On the way back we stop for a break.

This excursion is intended for people with some kayak experience.
We will be using individual touring kayaks or, optionally, double kayaks, which should be requested when the booking is made.
